Valerie Taylor-Barnes nurtured and kept the legacy of her beloved husband, Clive Barnes, alive by establishing the Clive Barnes Foundation in 2009. In November of 2019, Valerie Taylor-Barnes passed away. Before Mrs. Barnes’ passing, it was her wish for the Foundation to continue on, and appointed new Co-Presidents to move the Foundation into the future.

Lloyd Mayor

President

Lloyd Mayor is of Swiss and British nationality and was born in Geneva, Switzerland and trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. After entering the Martha Graham School with a full scholarship, he joined the Martha Graham Dance Company as a soloist dancer from 2012 to 2022. Mr. Mayor performed a wide range of lead roles in Martha Graham's repertoire as well as contemporary collaborations with Pam Tanowitz, Nacho Duato, Andonis Foniadakis and Richard Move’s “The Show (Achilles Heels)”, first danced by Mikhail Baryshnikov. For the Martha Graham company's 90th anniversary in April 2016, Mr. Mayor danced with former Étoile and former artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet, Aurélie Dupont. Mr. Mayor also continues to teach around the world, sharing the knowledge of the Graham Technique. Outside of dance, Mr. Mayor is a vibrant real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and takes great pride in being a global multilingual and multicultural professional that always puts forward the experience of collaborative effort and being of service to his client’s needs. In 2014, he was honored with the Clive Barnes Dance Award, and is now a Co-President of the Foundation alongside Holly Jones. Lloyd Mayor is passionate about keeping Clive and Valerie Taylor Barnes's legacy alive so that young talent can keep being recognised and celebrated.

Holly Jones

Vice President

Holly Jones is a field based arts advocate, practitioner, and producer who is passionate about championing emerging artists, equitable curatorial practices, and trust-based philanthropy. She is the Producing Director at Jacob's Pillow where her work is dedicated to supporting dance creation, presentation, education, and preservation. She serves on the boards of The Clive & Valerie Barnes Foundation, New England Presenters and The Croft Residency. Previous leadership roles have been at New England Foundation for the Arts, The Yard, CityStep, and The Croft. She recently completed her masters degree in nonprofit leadership at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice and holds a B.F.A. in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. She enjoys performing annually in The Bang Group's Nut/Cracked production and teaching community jazz classes at Berkshire Pulse.

  • Jill Reitzel

    Jill Reitzel

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    Jill Reitzel is an arts administrator, advocate, and dance performer. She is rooted in growing her practice of cultivating arts environments that break cultural and social barriers on and off the stage. She will graduate from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Dance in May 2023.

    Jill currently works as the Administrative Assistant for the Clive and Valerie Barnes Foundation, and as the Assistant Project Manager for SUPERCELL, a project by slowdanger In the past, she has worked for Music From the Sole, Ephrat Asherie Dance, Dorrance Dance, Pentacle (DanceWorks Inc.), Artichoke Dance, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Parsons Dance, and Hope College Events and Conferencing in various Booking and Company Management positions.
